事林廣記
This is a lab for translating and analyzing selections from 事林廣記 based at Leiden University.
There are many editions of Shilin guangji. Because encyclopedic texts were often reprinted, reorganized, expanded, and revised in other ways, we will spend some time exploring their textual history across time and across space. We will start out with a case study of what difference different editions can make.
We recommend the following print and online editions:
Chen, Yuanjing陳元靚. Shilin guangji. Shanghai: Shanghai guji, 1990.
———. Shilin guangji. Beijing: Zhonghua, 1963. 元至順間建安椿荘書院刻本https://ctext.org/library.pl?if=gb&res=83567 (CADAL)
